Dr. Robert J. Gange, a native of Hartford, Connecticut, has been in the private practice of orthodontics in Windsor and Vernon, Connecticut since 1973. After attending John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio, he received his dental and orthodontic degrees at Case Western Reserve University. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics, the highest distinction achievable in the specialty of orthodontics currently held by only 20 percent of orthodontists who seek this additional evaluation and testing of their clinical skills. In addition to his private practice, he is a clinical professor in the Orthodontic Department at the University of Connecticut, as well as an orthodontic instructor for the Hartford Hospital General Residency Program. He has lectured at many orthodontic meetings, published several articles on orthodontics in various professional journals and is an active member of the Central Connecticut Orthodontic Study Group.

Dr. Gange has been recognized every year in both Connecticut and Hartford magazines “Annual Top Dentists Issues”, and was the featured orthodontist in the December 2008 issue of Hartford Magazine. He has been interviewed in the November 2011 issue of Hartford Magazine, where he discusses the various options available in adult orthodontics. Once again he has been recognized in the August 2018 issue of Connecticut Magazine as well as the December 2018 issue of Hartford Magazine.

He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, the American Board of Orthodontics, the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics, and the Hartford Dental Society. He also serves as a research consultant for two major orthodontic materials companies.

Dr. Gange has been active in many civic organizations, including the Windsor Jaycees, and has chaired the Windsor Shad Derby three times. He has received the Windsor Chamber of Commerce Hallas Award for community service. He currently serves on the St. Gabriel School Board and the Windsor Youth Commission, where he was instrumental in helping the youth of Windsor establish its first skateboard park. He and his wife have two children, and in his spare time enjoys being with his family, boating, salt-water fishing, photography and swimming.
